Former Red Raider Partners With NorthStar

(LUBBOCK) – Field Scovell, M.D., recently became the newest partner of physician-owned NorthStar Surgical Center.

Scovell, a Red Raider football letterman from 1992-1996, has returned to Lubbock as an orthopedic surgeon and is now seen on the sidelines of many high school football games – including Estacado and Cooper – as team doctor. Fellowship trained in sports medicine, Scovell said he’s glad to be back at the home of his alma mater.

“I loved playing football for (Texas) Tech,” Scovell said. “And, I’m also an alumna of the Health Sciences Center School of Medicine. So, I’ve spent a lot of time in Lubbock. It’s nice to be back.”

Scovell’s private practice is located at Lubbock Sports Medicine, 4110 22nd Place.

NorthStar Surgical Center is physician-owned by 35 area partners. The same-day surgery center offers services ranging from pain management to orthopedics and from cosmetic and plastic surgery to ophthalmology and podiatry.
